An Inspired Psalm of Stephanie

For my Abba.

At times, after the goodness of the Lord has blessed us repeatedly, it is only proper and right to respond in a manner that exemplifies our great appreciation for His loving kindness. As we take time to ponder His great love and faithfulness, I hope gratitude wells up so intensely in our innermost being that it becomes impossible to hold back our desire to thank Him. Below, I submit my effort to offer Him just a little bit of my appreciation for His love and presence throughout 2023. Maybe it is time for you, too, to write your own psalm of gratitude. I know it will make Him smile.

1. Holy. Holy is the Lord, God Almighty. He is high and lifted up and His train fills the temple. He is God - omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. Glory be to His holy name.

2. The earth trembles at His presence as He rides upon the winds observing the actions of mankind and judging the intents of our hearts.

3. He is holy and righteous and judges righteously. His thoughts and ways far exceed our ability to know or understand them. He is our Lord and King high above all other lords or kings.

4. The earth responds to His voice - the rocks, trees, mountains, beasts of the fields, even celestial bodies. Have you heard the stars sing?

5. He is the God of the universe, of all creation. He rules and reigns with complete authority and preeminence.

6. And, He is my Abba. Father. Loving and kind, patient, extending grace for shortfall and forgiveness for blatant sin.

7. Who is like Him? None other!

8. I am blessed. Every day that I live I am blessed. When I wake up in the morning, til I lay my head to rest, I am blessed. (Last line - song author unknown to me)
